Imbolc or Lichtmess marks the tangible return of the sun as the days get longer and the first flowers and leaves poke out of the snow. It can be an energising but also vulnerable time when we come back out of our shells.
This cacao ceremony aims to create a space in which we can allow the shift from winter to spring to take place, an inner spring cleaning if you will. The restorative yoga postures help us to get in touch with some of the things that might have crystallized in the deep darkness of winter, to keep or to release.
Imbolc is also know as the beginnings of beginnings and it can be a powerful moment to set intentions for the year to come.
What to expect:
CACAO: We drink a warm cup of ceremonial grade raw cacao, that facilitates on open heart and mind, to keep our focus as we rest for longer periods of time in the postures.
RESTORATIVE YOGA: In restorative yoga we hold postures between 5 - 20min. As opposed to a yin class, we want very little intensity in the postures, allowing the nervous system to truly calm down and allow for a meditative state to occur. No previous yoga experience is necessary for that.
YOGA NIDRA: We finish with a yoga nidra journey, starting with a body scan in our extended savasana to explore the realm between awake and asleep, this and the other.
What to bring:
Please bring comfortable clothes, warm socks and a comfy sweater, also your own mug to drink your cup of cacao.
Although we will be drinking a milder ceremonial dose of cacao, please let me know if you have high blood pressure, are taking anti depressants or are pregnant so we can adjust the dose.
